We are proud to introduce to you the new Bartoli & Hunter Web Site depicting a magnificent range of hand-finished period fire surrounds, every one varying in vein pattern, texture and shading, making each surround totally unique. This has been achieved by creating a fine blend of ancient and modern skills using the benefit of time-served experience and the introduction of centuries old craftsmens’ skills and techniques with the most up-to-date methods and materials, which has helped to make Bartoli & Hunter consistent “Award Winners”.

Throughout the following pages we have tried to stimulate ideas by using colour and texture to produce marble and stone effect fire surrounds in the same way as the Italian craftsman, Bartoli, did in the 18th Century when Robert Adam used his skills to decorate marble fireplaces with scagliolia (polished, dyed Gypsum).

All our fire surrounds are produced from painstakingly detailed moulds and manufactured from a modified and toughened Gypsum material which lends itself perfectly to the natural material it represents.

In the Traditional Range we have produced a selection of hand-finished stone and marble effects which to the untrained eye gives the look and feel of the natural material.

Colour co-ordination can be achieved by introducing a second finish to your Bartoli & Hunter fire surround as depicted in our two-tone range. Why not let us match your own colour scheme?

In the Riven Range we have introduced the “old and the new”.

Here we have added that extra texture to the stone and slate effect to give that “centuries old” look - like the Belgian Limestone where we have created the effect of a natural Ferrous vein through the stone. Again, why not introduce a second colour by combining two riven finishes or a riven and traditional finish? The possibilities are endless.

Many of the stone effect fire surrounds throughout the web site are accompanied by matching FibreStone back panels and hearths. Developed exclusively by Bartoli & Hunter, FibreStone is completely resin free, highly heat resistant, and an extremely easy material to care for. Making it the perfect compliment to your Bartoli & Hunter fire surround.
